Artist's Comments
During a long weekend trip to Paris, a few friends and I visited the Eiffle Tower and this is the carousel that lives underneath the tower. This is one of two abstract images from that night. It was freezing that night so I took these very quickly but they turned out well, especially since I was shivering and the camera was shaking like crazy. This was about a 20 second exposure... I used a mini tripod but didn't have a shutter release on me so I had to hold open the shutter on my own. I was surprised at the result.
I thought the carousel was incredibly beautiful all illuminated at night. This was the first time that I visited the Eiffel Tower at night. While we were there my friends rode the carousel and I just people watched. It was a great night. We snacked on hot dogs, fries and cotton candy and had a fabulous time just sitting there for most of the night. I sold a print of this to my college and the print resides in Lacoste, France. |
